Boils symptoms include a lump or swelling that forms under the skin. The lump and nearby area becomes swollen, painful, red and inflamed. Pus is formed when the swelling or lump is pushed to the skin’s surface. Boils can be drained and burst on their own. This relieves the pain and begins the healing process. However, most of the boils do need treatment to ensure healing.
